Tobin Manufacturing LLC designs and manufactures positive displacement meter/mix/dispense equipment proven for over 30 years to provide simple, extremely accurate and economical solutions to molders of polyurethane foams, elastomers, filled elastomers and hot processed pre-polymer systems. The equipment will meter/mix and dispense other two component polymers including epoxies and silicones.

Tobin equipment is known for it’s reliability, versatility and ease of maintenance. Metering accuracy is maintained in open-pour molding as well as injection into closed molds where backpressure is commonly encountered.

Shot size can be controlled and readily changed to reproducibly accommodate the exact filling of mold cavities.

Heated and insulated saddle and stand-alone day tanks can be provided to meet specific requirements. Agitators for individual tanks to provide uniform temperature control and homogeneity of the components are available.

Special heating and insulation packages are designed to allow the processing of MOCA and other pre-polymer urethane systems that require controlled elevated temperatures for processing.

Rotary tables with heat tunnels for the continuous processing of molds provide critical process control to support high rates of production molding. Automation and integration of the dispensing equipment and rotary tables can be provided.

 
TOBIN ROTOKAM*

Tobin Manufacturing, LLC has used a method for powering multiple piston pumps in their meter, mix and dispensing machines that eliminates the requirement for an air compressor to operate the system. In place of a traditional air piston motor, a variable speed electric motor is used to power a drive shaft connected to multiple cams that in turn cause the piston metering pumps to reciprocate. This results in extremely efficient and adjustable speed/flow control while guaranteeing precise ratio control. This rotary cam technology has been used on Tobin’s Tri-Syn and Dub-L-Flow units and has now been adapted to the venerable Dub-L-Bar and Fixed Ratio metering units. We have named this advanced rotary cam technology, ROTOKAM*.
