TOBIN MANUFACTURING designs and manufactures meter, mix and dispense machines using positive displacement piston rod metering pumps feeding dynamic, static or impingement mixers for processing temperature controlled or hot cast urethane elastomers, urethane foams or epoxies.  Tobin also provides spare parts, helix mixers, mix heads and service for DECKER foam machines.

TOBIN DUB-L-BAR

DUB-L-BAR technology is based on a 3” or 4” diameter by 4” long air motor attached by steel rods and fulcrums to unique piston pumps featuring no metal to metal contact, durable composite seals with static lube, and heated spring loaded piston check valves.  The fulcrums can be manually adjusted to infinitely change the mix ratio from 1:3 to 3:1 (ratios up to 20:1 can be accommodated by using different diameter metering pumps).  The load and dispense rates of the metering pumps can be individually adjusted to facilitate materials of high viscosities or mold fill rates.  A manual adjustment screw is provided to control the stroke length.  When set for a partial stroke, the air piston automatically goes back to home after each shot.  With the accompanying air free dynamic mixer (either plastic disposable or aluminum), DUB-L-BAR machines are suitable for pouring or injecting a wide range of filled or unfilled urethanes or epoxies into various types fo rigid or flexible molds or cavities.  Static mixers are supplied where required.  Flow rates can be adjusted while dispensing without going off-ratio facilitating intricate mold filling requirements.  With the optional multiple zone heat package, DUB-L-BAR machines are excellent for processing HOT CAST pre-polymers and curatives or MbOCA systems commonly requiring mix rations in the 10:1 range.

Various pump diameters and air pistons are available to accommodate numerous shot sizes and ratios.

Specifications:

*Positive opening and closing, spring loaded piston check valves for pump inlets and outlets prevent off-ratio condition at beginning and end of stroke cycles.
*Heated check valve housings prevent sticking.
*Injection dispense pressures up to 3,000 psi for closed mold applications.  Pouring into an open mold results in only the minimal pressure required to move the material through the mix chamber and any hose attached to the end of the mixer.
*Mix ratios up to 20:1 (with different diameter pumps).
*
Shot size is variable and adjustable within the maximum combined output of the metering cylinders.
*Air free dynamic mix head is mounted on the machine frame and oriented to facilitate the process requirement, such as, vertically or horizontally.
4200 RPM electric mixer motor.
*Disposable plastic dynamic mixer cartridge with unique blade and baffle design.  *Higher outputs/viscosities may require an aluminum blade and baffle mixer.
*Injector/check valves and orifices at mix head manifold prevent cross over and lead/lag.
*Flexible plastic tubing can be attached to the mixer outlet and thus to the dispense location.  Either a foot switch or a hose mounted pistol grip with switch can be supplied to control the dispense start/stop.  Otherwise, the dispense can be controlled from the control panel.
*Manual valves to control feed or recycle of products from pumps to mix head and return to supply.
*Stainless steel braided, Teflon lined product hose from pumps to mixer head.
*A NEMA control enclosure mounted on the machine frame houses all required switches, solenoids and indicator lights.
*Electrical requirements: 120VAC/230VAC, 60Hz, 10 to 20 amps depending on heating requirements.
*Air requirements: 90 to 120 psi, clean & dry.
*Footprint: varies with model size but most would fit a 2 ft. wide by 3ft. long space with 1 gallon tanks.  Height is approximately 2.5 ft. and is suitable for bench or optional stand mounting.  Footprint and height increases proportionally to the size tanks and other options selected.

Options:

*Multiple heat zones to facilitate the processing of HOT CAST urethanes including MOCA & HQEE.  Temperature range is from ambient to 350F (175C).  No cold spots.
Various size saddle or free standing day tanks from 1 liter to 80 gallons (310 liters) with or without heating.
*Heat zones for pumps tubes, hoses and mix head.
*Adjustable air piston spacer blocks to facilitate different single stroke shot sizes.
*Vacuum capable material tanks with electric driven magnetically coupled agitators.
*Automatic tank refill with solid state level sensors, transfer pumps, air actuated ball valves and hoses.
*Jacketed tanks for chilled water cooling.
*Water chillers.
*Drum feed kit from supply drums to metering pumps with or without heat.
*Pump stroke counter for multiple stroke mold filling.
*Solvent & air purge for mix chamber.
*Static mixers for epoxy and silicone processing.
*Portable mounting stand on caster wheels.
*Air regulator, gauge and filter assembly.
*Custom engineered features to facilitate your process.
